It’s All About the Lakes

As stewards of the land, it’s imperative that we remain vigilant and stay abreast of the issues that may well impact on our environment as well as our enjoyment and survival of our natural resources.

Years ago, the nightmarish, gas-drilling tales were mere whispers spoken from distant lands.

Overnight, or so it seems, we can visualize the cresting of their derricks over our favorite horizons.

We live here because of the lakes.  We drink the water, fresh from the tap.  We swim, fish and responsibly traverse her waters; ever cognizant of maintaining the fragile ecological balance…below and above the surface of her gently cresting waves.

Will the gas companies draw closer to our shores?  Will they be looking at our lakes for the water they’ll desperately need to further pollute our earth?

We as Americans understand that measures need to be taken in an effort to secure our independence for fuel.  And we agree that it may rest just beneath our feet. 

However, we need to maintain the watch that Uncle does not sacrifice our regions’ beauty in the euphemistic name of progress.  We’re standing vigil in an effort to protect the heart of our region…our lakes…our pulse.
