  What a Great Day it is, to spot one of our neighborhood Bald Eagles riding the thermals over Roamingwood Lake in The Hideout.  I haven't corresponded with the Game Commission lately regarding the approximate number of nesting pairs in the Lake Region.....but I'm guessing, due to the increased occasion of sightings....those numbers are multiplying nicely.  Such a magnificient bird.....To those of you who had to drive around my parked vehicle on Lakeview Drive while I enjoyed the aerial acrobati...

Well....it is in my Dreams....and those dreams will soon be coming true.  If the Woolly Caterpillar Myth is true.....we're going to have fresh powder all season long.  And of course, if Mother Nature happens to be a bit stubborn....we can make our own.  Shown here, is one of The Hideout's Snow Machines providing for a day of fun on the slopes.  It's not too early to start planning...wax those boards and skis...I'll see YOU  at the summit.

I don't know about you; but I'm tired.  Tired of waking up with frozen tears crusted to my cheeks; fog spewing from blue-tinged lips....the wife maintains the thermostat setting is fine.  Tired of headlines advertising what the market bears for a barrel of crude; I shouldn't really need to know that.  I'm tired of crouching behind curtained windows as the fuel truck beeps its way into my drive and vigorously sates my boiler's thirst.

...I'd already be Home!  I thought about this on Monday afternoon....listening to all the trunks slamming against hastily packed and over stuffed luggage; the sound of heavy sighs floating across the crisp afternoon mountain breeze, as visitors to our region contemplate the arduous drive back into the "Fastlane."  As a Native to the area...sometimes it's easy to lose that perspective of how absolutley beautiful our Home is here in the mountains.  Our neighbors are friendly, our schools rank high...
